Export Cargo Package

Customs Clearance: Before the cargo can be loaded onto the ship, it must first clear Customs. The above-mentioned papers, as well as five copies of the shipping bill, must be sent to the Customs Appraiser at the Customs House in order to accomplish this. The Customs Appraiser verifies that the exporter has completed all exchange control, quality control, pre-shipment inspection, and licensing requirements. All records are returned to the C&F agent after review, with the exception of the original GR, original copy of Shipping Bill, and one copy of Commercial Invoice.

To reach a foreign customer, export cargo packages can be transported by sea, air, or land. Shipping by sea, on the other hand, is the most popular and widely used process due to its lower cost. Furthermore, the ship’s capabilities far outweigh those of other modes of transport. Costly items such as diamonds, gold, and other valuables, on the other hand, are transported by air. The shipping stage includes the following steps:

The exporter reserves the necessary space in the vessel for shipment until the export contract is finalized: The shipping company issues a shipping Order after approving the exporter’s appeal. The exporter receives the original copy of the shipping order, while the duplicate is sent to the ship’s commanding officer. The shipping order is an instruction from the shipping company to the ship’s commanding officer that the goods should be received on board according to the information given.

Internal Transportation Arrangements Up to the Port of Shipment: The exporter makes the appropriate arrangements for goods transportation to the port, whether by road or rail. The railway authorities give a ‘Railway Receipt’ after loading goods into a railway wagon, which can be either ‘freight paid’ or ‘freight to pay.’ It serves as the products’ title. To allow his agent to take delivery of the goods at the port of shipment, the exporter endorses the railway receipt in his favor.

Preparation and Processing of Shipping Documents: As soon as the goods arrive at the port of shipment, the exporter should give the C&F agent specific instructions for cargo shipment.
